Cyber Insurance Readiness Assessment

Less complexity. More leverage.

Twenty-two questions. Five minutes. You’ll know whether your renewal application would survive an underwriter — and, more importantly, whether your policy would actually pay.

Why this matters more than the premium. A cyber application isn’t a form, it’s a sworn attestation attached to the policy. In Travelers v. International Control Services (2022), the carrier moved to rescind a policy after a ransomware claim, alleging the application had overstated the company’s MFA. The parties stipulated to void the policy ab initio — no coverage, at all, for any claim. Answer these the way your environment actually is, not the way you’d like it to be.

One thing almost everyone gets backwards

Everyone prepares for ransomware. That’s not the claim you’re going to have. In Coalition’s 2026 claims data, business email compromise and funds transfer fraud together made up 58% of all cyber incidents — funds transfer fraud alone was 27% of claims, averaging $141,000. And it’s rarely covered the way people assume: social engineering coverage is usually sublimited well below your policy limit, and it typically carries a condition precedent — the callback verification. Skip the callback, and the coverage exists on paper but doesn’t respond. If you fix one thing this quarter, make it a written callback protocol for payee bank-detail changes, using a phone number you had on file before the request came in.
